Yapper is an anonymous, location‑based social app where you share what’s really on your mind with the people around you. No real names, no public profiles, just local voices and real conversations in your area.

Stay anonymous

Post “yaps” without tying them to your real identity. Yapper uses randomly-generated aliases for each post/reply you make instead of public usernames, so you can be honest without putting your real life on display.

See what’s happening nearby

Your feed can be curated to show you what's happening globally, or only what is in your local area. See what people in your city, neighborhood, campus, or event are talking about in real time.

Earn doubloons, unlock perks

When people engage with your posts, you earn doubloons – an in‑app currency you can spend in the shop. Unlock fun perks like:

Highlighted yaps that glow in the feed

Extra alias options for your posts

A little badge next to your alias to stand out

Anonymous DMs when you connect

Take a conversation private with direct messages that still respect your anonymity. Chat one‑on‑one using your aliases and shared posts as the starting point for deeper discussion.

Simple, fast, and built for real life

Yapper is designed to be quick to open, easy to scroll, and lightweight. Check in on your local corner during a coffee line, between classes, or while hanging out with friends.

Safety and reporting tools

You can report posts that break the rules, and our moderation tools help keep your feed safe. We don’t show your real name or email to other users, and you stay in control of what you post and delete.

Why Yapper?

Most social apps are built on followers and clout. Yapper is built on anonymity and locality – what people near you are thinking and feeling right now, without the pressure of a permanent public profile.

Download Yapper to see what your city is really talking about, and add your voice, anonymously.
