The first weeks with a puppy are harder than anyone warned you.

You're exhausted, you haven't slept properly in weeks, and everyone online has an opinion about what you're doing wrong. Pupchi is built for this part - and built on the idea that you'll do better with your dog if you understand what's going on, rather than following instructions you can't question.

WHY, NOT JUST HOW

Most training apps hand you a list of commands. Do this, then this. It works until your puppy does something the list didn't cover, and then you're on your own.

Pupchi puts the reasoning inside every step. Not "walk slowly over the poles" but why slow matters - that speed turns careful stepping into leaping, losing the coordination you were building and loading growing joints.

The aim isn't to get you following the method correctly. It's that a few weeks in, you need the app less, because you've started reading your own dog.

TRAINING THAT BUILDS THE BOND

Every practice is tagged with what it gives your dog, and connection is one of the three things Pupchi builds for - alongside body and mind.

So bonding isn't a side effect of obedience work here. It's a category of its own: hand-feeding games, hide and seek, the wind-down routine that brings the evening back down. A dog who wants to be near you is easier to train than one who has learned to comply - and it's a better way to live together.

WHAT A PRACTICE LOOKS LIKE

Short. Most run five to fifteen minutes, and each one says up front how long it takes, what you'll need, and whether it's calm, playful, or high energy - so you can pick something that fits a bad evening instead of writing the day off.

Then clear steps in plain language, each explaining what it's doing and why.

WHAT YOU CAN WORK ON

- Potty training and house training, including the accidents nobody posts about
- Crate training, and the crying at night
- Puppy biting and mouthing
- Settling, alone time, and calm in the house
- Socialization during the window that actually matters
- Scent work, problem-solving, and games that tire a puppy out mentally
- Confidence with new people, places, sounds, and surfaces
- The stretch where they simply won't listen
- Teething, fear periods, and what's normal at each age

WHERE THE ADVICE COMES FROM

Reward-based methods, in line with what modern professional trainers and behavior organizations recommend. No dominance theory, no corrections, no shouting - you are not required to be the alpha, and winning a game of tug does not make your puppy think they run the house.

Some of what's here deliberately parts company with advice you'll have heard. Where the popular version doesn't hold up, we say so and explain what's actually going on.

WHO IT'S FOR

First-time puppy owners. People a few weeks into a rescue. Anyone in the stretch sometimes called the puppy blues, quietly wondering whether they've made a terrible mistake. You haven't. It's a normal part of this, it's far more common than anyone admits, and it passes.

A NOTE ON YOUR PUPPY'S HEALTH

Pupchi is not a substitute for veterinary care. All content is general educational information about puppy behavior and training. It is not veterinary diagnosis, advice, or treatment. If your puppy shows signs of illness, injury, pain, or a sudden change in behavior, contact a licensed veterinarian.
