MediaRescue

Find the media your phone forgot. 📂

MediaRescue is an offline-first Android media and file management app built to help you find, browse, search, preview, and manage files across your device storage.

Modern Android versions make some storage locations harder to access. MediaRescue gives you a focused way to find media and files that might be hidden from your regular gallery or difficult to locate manually.

🔍 Find Your Files

Scan accessible device storage and discover media and files stored across different folders.

MediaRescue helps you find:

🖼️ Images
🎬 Videos
🎵 Audio files
📄 PDF documents
📁 Other accessible files

🖼️ Organized Gallery

Browse discovered media in a clean gallery interface.

View files by type and folder, making large collections easier to explore without digging through countless directories.

🔎 Powerful Search

Looking for one specific file?

Search through your scanned files by name and quickly find what you need.

📂 File Browser

Manually explore your accessible storage with a familiar file-browser experience.

Browse folders, inspect files, and locate content stored deep inside your device.

👀 Built-in Previews

Preview supported files without leaving MediaRescue.

View images, play videos and audio, and open supported documents directly from the app.

📦 Find Large Files

Find files taking up significant storage space.

Filter large files and quickly see which items are consuming your storage.

⚡ Advanced Scanning with Shizuku

MediaRescue includes an optional Advanced Scanning feature powered by Shizuku.

Advanced Scanning helps search Android/data and Android/obb for media and files that normal Android storage access cannot reach.

Advanced Scanning is completely optional. MediaRescue's normal scanning works without Shizuku.

🔐 Privacy First

MediaRescue is designed with privacy in mind.

No account required
No cloud upload of your personal files
Local file processing
Offline-first core functionality
No unnecessary tracking

Your files stay on your device while MediaRescue does its job.

⚡ Offline-First

Core MediaRescue features work without requiring an internet connection.

Scan, search, browse, and preview your files locally.

🛠️ Storage Access

MediaRescue needs appropriate storage access to scan and manage files.

Android controls access through its permission system, and you remain in control of which access you grant.

🌱 Open Source

MediaRescue is open source and developed with transparency in mind.
