You pick up your phone to check the time. Twenty minutes later, you find yourself lost in a social media feed you never intended to open.

Sound familiar? That is autopilot scrolling.

Forslow helps you break that cycle. It doesn’t lock your phone, shame you, or build rigid walls. Instead, Forslow introduces a calm, mindful pause before you open distracting apps.

That brief gap of friction gives your brain time to catch up with your impulses—turning mindless habit into a conscious choice.

✦ HOW FORSLOW WORKS

1. Choose Your Guarded Apps
Select the apps that tend to pull you into endless scrolling—social feeds, short videos, games, or news.

2. A Calming Pause Gate
When you tap to open a guarded app, Forslow gently appears with a short, calming reflection screen (from 5 to 60 seconds) and a thoughtful prompt.

3. Make an Intentional Choice
Take a deep breath while the timer counts down. When it finishes, you decide: continue to the app with clear intention, or step back to real life.

No complicated lockouts. No frustration. Just a gentle moment of self-awareness asking: “Do I really want to spend my time here right now?”

✦ KEY FEATURES FOR DIGITAL WELLBEING

• Custom Pause Durations — Set reflection timers that fit your routine (quick 10s check-in or a deep 30s reset).
• Floating Awareness Pill — A subtle, draggable timer overlay that gently keeps you aware of how long your session has been active.
• Daily Wisdom & Custom Reminders — Reflect on stoic quotes or write your own personal reminders to keep your goals front of mind.

✦ 100% PRIVATE & ON-DEVICE

Your habits and screen time are personal:
• No accounts or sign-ups required.
• Zero ads, zero tracking, zero selling of your activity.
• All guarded app lists, reflection preferences, and usage stats remain 100% local on your device.

Anonymous crash diagnostics (via Google Firebase) are used only to detect and resolve technical issues.

✦ TRANSPARENT PERMISSIONS

To detect when a guarded app opens and display the mindful pause gate, Forslow uses standard Android digital wellbeing permissions (Usage Access, Display Over Other Apps, and a Foreground Service). These run strictly on your device to power the reflection screens. Nothing is ever uploaded or shared.

Reclaim your attention. Pause before you scroll with Forslow.
