Berean Scroll is a Bible study app for people who want to check what they read. Like the Bereans in Acts 17, who examined the Scriptures every day to see if these things were so, it puts the text first and shows you where everything else comes from.

READ
• Five translations built in and readable offline from the first launch, including the Berean Standard Bible and the World English Bible
• About 30 more, free to download, from the Geneva Bible and Young's Literal Translation to the Septuagint in English
• The words of Christ in red where the translation marks them; light, dark and sepia pages; adjustable text and layout
• Highlights, bookmarks and notes on any verse

STUDY
• Hebrew and Greek word by word, with parsing and lexicon entries (Brown-Driver-Briggs, Strong's, Abbott-Smith, and the UBS dictionaries)
• Tap any verse to see its words, the people and places it names, and where else it is heard
• English meanings for every Hebrew word and prefix, from STEP Bible (Tyndale House, Cambridge), free to download
• Cross references, translation comparison, study notes and the Greek New Testament's manuscript variants
• Classic commentaries, free to download: Matthew Henry, Jamieson-Fausset-Brown, John Gill, Adam Clarke, Calvin, Keil and Delitzsch, Barnes, Wesley and more
• Search by English word, Strong's number, lemma or reference

THE BIBLE'S WORLD
• Maps on a coloured natural landscape, with the places each passage names
• A timeline of events, with the eras on the map: choose the patriarchs or the exodus and see their places and journeys
• Journeys, handbooks of plants, animals and objects, and photographs of biblical sites

DEEPER STUDY
• Exegesis worksheets, sentence phrasing, word lists and study projects
• Reading plans, memory cards and a private prayer journal
• Lesson and sermon builder, with export to PDF and Word on the Pastor and Church plans

PREPARE TO PREACH OR TEACH
• Draft a sermon, devotional or Bible study from your own worksheet and notes, the passage and your commentaries
• Every claim cites a source you can open; every drafted section is marked AI-generated until you check it
• Plan a series: one sermon or lesson a week, each with its passage and central idea
• Revise a section: shorter, clearer, with an illustration or a sharper application
A draft uses 5 assistant questions, a series plan 2, a revision 1. Drafting a sermon needs a subscription. 18 and over.

STUDY TOGETHER
• Join a church or small-group community, discuss passages, and take courses
• Report any post and block any member; reports are reviewed within 24 hours

ASK ABOUT A PASSAGE
An optional assistant answers questions about the passage you are reading, grounded in named sources you can open and check. Every answer is labelled as AI-generated. It is a research aid, not Scripture and not a pastor. It needs an account and is for people aged 18 and over. The free plan includes up to 3 questions a day.

YOUR STUDY STAYS YOURS
No ads, no tracking and no analytics. Reading and study need no account and no connection. One setting stops the app sending anything at all. Sign in only if you want syncing, communities or courses.

FREE, AND OPTIONAL PLANS
Reading, search, the original languages, lexicons, commentary, maps, notes, highlights, reading plans, memory cards and the prayer journal are free on every plan. Optional subscriptions add assistant questions, sermon drafting and leadership tools:
• Premium: 180 assistant questions a month
• Pastor: 400 questions a month, sermon and lesson export, and leading up to 3 communities
• Church: 1,000 questions a month, leading up to 10 communities, and creating courses
Yearly plans start with a 7-day free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in Google Play.

Every translation and resource names its publisher and licence in the Library.
