Tag Recorder is a straightforward audio recorder built around one idea: you shouldn't have to re-listen to an entire recording just to find the ten seconds that mattered.
While you're recording — a lecture, an interview, a meeting, a podcast episode, a voice memo to yourself — tap "Add Tag" the moment something worth remembering happens. Give it a short label and it's saved as a marker at that exact point in the audio. If you tag too soon or too late, you can click the time and set it to what you want it to be. Stop recording, and every tag you added is embedded directly in the file itself, so it travels with the recording even if you move or share it.
Later, you can open the search screen and look up a recording by its tags or file name. Open it in the player and jump straight to any tagged moment — no scrubbing through silence to get there.
FEATURES
• Add tags while recording, in real time, without stopping
• Rename, re-time, or delete tags afterward — in the recorder or the player
• Search all your recordings by tag text or file name
• Jump to the next or previous tag while listening back
• Choose exactly which folder recordings are saved to, and change it anytime
• Recordings save as standard .m4a (AAC) files — tags live in the file's own metadata, not a separate database, so your recordings stay portable
• Everything stays on your device: recordings are never uploaded anywhere
WHO IT'S FOR

• Professionals tracking action items and decisions in meetings or interviews
• Podcasters and journalists flagging good clips while they record

• Anyone journaling, note-taking by voice, or recording something they'll want to find again later
Free to use, with no account required and no ads. Tag Recorder asks for microphone access to record and storage access to save files where you choose — nothing more. See the in-app FAQ or our privacy policy for details.
