IceTray is a lightweight internet radio player for Icecast streams. Add your stations once, then listen at home, on the go, or on the speakers around your house, with full Android media controls wherever you are.

LISTEN IN THE BACKGROUND

Playback carries on while you use other apps or lock your screen. Play, pause and stop from the notification, the lock screen or your Bluetooth headphones and car stereo, without opening IceTray.

CAST TO YOUR SPEAKERS

Send your stream to Google Cast speakers and displays on your network with one tap.

YOUR STREAM LIBRARY

Save stations with a name and URL, and add artwork to each one so your library looks the way you want. Everything is stored locally on your device.

IMPORT AND EXPORT

Export your library to a file and import it on another device, so you only have to set up your stations once. It works across every version of IceTray, whether that's on your phone, tablet or computer.

NOW PLAYING INFO

IceTray shows the current track and station details wherever the stream provides them. It reads Icecast 2.5 public stats and the common legacy status endpoints, and falls back to in-stream ICY metadata.

BUILT FOR ICECAST

IceTray is designed for Icecast and compatible MPEG audio streams. Paste in your station's stream URL and start listening. Buffering smooths over brief network drops, so a patchy connection doesn't cut your music off.

SETTINGS

Autoplay on startup: resume your last stream when you open the app

LIGHTWEIGHT AND FOCUSED

No accounts, no ads and no tracking. IceTray does one job and does it well: it plays internet radio reliably.

PERMISSIONS

IceTray needs network access to stream audio and find Cast devices. Notifications provide the background playback controls. Optional image access lets you choose artwork for your stations.

AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE

IceTray is made by JDB-NET and is also available for Windows, macOS and Linux, including a headless version for servers and Raspberry Pi. Find it at icetray.jdbnet.co.uk.
