Day Player is a life in the film industry, told one card at a time.

You start at eighteen as a production assistant in a town with one stage. Each card is a moment: a 4 AM call, a gaffer who needs a hand, a camera cart in the rain, a cousin's wedding on a shoot day. You choose, the dice roll, and the story moves. Rep, honor, health, stress, energy and fitness decide your odds, and the odds are printed on the card so you always know what you are risking.

Build a career: day play, join a department, get your union days, run a camera, buy the gear and rent it out, fly a plane for work if you earn the certificate first. Build a life: the roommate years, the first apartment, the partner who waits up, kids, a house near the stages or a cabin two hours out. Lose some of it. Get some of it back.

Every life is different. The deck is written for every decade from eighteen to eighty-nine, and the engine does not repeat itself: the same card twice in a life is rare by design. Play fast with skips, or read every card.

What is in the game
- Hundreds of hand-written cards about real film work, in plain language, with a glossary for the jargon you will hear on set
- A store, a bank with real interest, a news screen with five tickers, and rentals that pay monthly
- Mini-games for the physical moments: carrying, dodging, running, focus pulls, slate sync, coiling cable, building the day
- Health and stress that matter: clinics, hospitals, burnout, the long road back
- Lies you can tell and get caught in, dates, vacations, a wedding or two
- Wins to earn mid-life: the studio feature, the net worth, the full life
- Play past seventy for as long as the dice let you
- A shareable game-over card for every life
- Optional skip credits (in-app purchase) if you want to jump ahead more than once a decade. Everything else is free. No account, no ads, no data collected except crash reports
