FarmerDataLogger is a field data collection app built for on-farm experiment
(OFE) research teams. It's used alongside your organization's FarmerDataLogger
Dashboard — you'll need an invite (QR code) from your research team to get
started; this app doesn't work as a standalone tool.

CAPTURE IN THE FIELD, NO SIGNAL NEEDED
Everything works offline. Photos, audio recordings, text notes, and GPS
tracks are saved to your device immediately and sync automatically once
you're back in range of Wi-Fi (or cellular data, if your team allows it).

WHAT YOU CAN CAPTURE
• Photos — geotagged automatically, with an optional caption you can type
or dictate by voice. On supported devices, photos can also include a
depth map alongside the image.
• Audio recordings — with a live GPS track recorded alongside, so you can
narrate observations while walking a field.
• GPS tracks — record a path as you walk a field or boundary.
• Text notes — quick field notes, with voice dictation support.
• Custom Forms — your research team can build structured data-entry forms
(checkboxes, dropdowns, numeric fields, and photo attachments) that
appear right in the app.

BUILT FOR THE FIELD
• Works fully offline — nothing is lost without a signal.
• Automatic background upload when Wi-Fi becomes available.
• A Media Library to review, re-upload, or delete anything you've captured.
• On-device voice dictation for notes and captions — no data leaves your
phone for this, and it works without a network connection.

WHO THIS IS FOR
This app is built for members of on-farm experiment research projects —
researchers and the farmers/contacts they work with — who have been given
access by their organization. You'll onboard by scanning a QR code from
your project's Dashboard; there's no public sign-up.

PERMISSIONS
• Camera — to take photos.
• Microphone — to record audio and for on-device voice dictation.
• Location — to geotag photos, notes, and recordings, and to record GPS
tracks. Location is only used while you're actively using a feature that
needs it (taking a photo, recording, or tracking a route) — the app does
not track your location in the background when you're not using it.
