Unrecorded helps you stay more aware of possible privacy risks nearby.

The app scans nearby Bluetooth Low Energy signals for patterns that may indicate smart glasses or wearable recording devices. When signals look relevant, Unrecorded shows a calm, plain-English privacy risk alert so you can understand what the app has noticed.

Unrecorded is not a hidden camera detector and it cannot prove that anyone is recording. It is designed to give you extra awareness, not certainty.

What Unrecorded can do:
• Scan nearby Bluetooth signals while the app is open
• Highlight signals that may match wearable recording devices
• Show low, medium or high privacy risk indicators
• Explain why a signal may have been flagged
• Keep scan data on your device
• Work without an account or cloud upload

What Unrecorded cannot do:
• Confirm that someone is recording
• Detect every camera, microphone or smart glasses device
• Detect non-Bluetooth devices
• Reliably measure exact distance
• Guarantee that a device name is accurate

Why use it?

Discreet recording devices are becoming more common. Unrecorded gives you a simple way to stay aware in places where privacy matters, such as meetings, social situations, events, workplaces or sensitive conversations.

Your privacy stays local.

Unrecorded is built with a local-first privacy model. The app does not require an account, does not upload scan results to the cloud, and does not use analytics by default.

Important note: Bluetooth visibility varies. Device names can be hidden, changed or randomised, and signal strength can be unreliable. Alerts should be treated as privacy indicators, not proof of recording.
