MobiObs turns an Android device into a portable observability collector for any network, from a home lab to a datacenter. It receives syslog, Windows Events, flow data and SNMP traps from your equipment, stores them on the device and shows them live, in the app and in any browser on the network. No observability stack to build, no cloud account, no agent to roll out.

WHAT IT RECEIVES
• Syslog: RFC 3164 (BSD) and RFC 5424 over UDP and TCP, with CEF and LEEF fields extracted
• Windows Event Log entries forwarded by NXLog (JSON, Snare or plain text)
• NetFlow v5 and v9, IPFIX (v10) and sFlow v5
• SNMP traps v1 and v2c, informs, and SNMPv3 (authNoPriv and authPriv)

Default ports: udp/tcp 5514 (syslog), udp 2055 (NetFlow/IPFIX), udp 6343 (sFlow), udp 1162 (SNMP traps). Android does not let apps bind ports below 1024, so point exporters at these ports instead of 514 or 162. Every port can be changed.

WHAT YOU SEE
• Overview: event and flow rates, per-kind timeline, severity split, top hosts, apps and talkers
• Logs: live tail with full-text search and filters by host, app, source IP, facility and severity
• Windows Events: event ID, channel, provider, computer and all EventData fields
• Flows: traffic over time, top talkers, destinations, ports and protocol mix
• SNMP Traps: trap names, OIDs, decoded varbinds, SNMP version and security level
• Network: every address and port to point equipment at, with ready-to-paste sender snippets, plus gateway, DNS and Wi-Fi details

WEB UI FROM THE DEVICE
MobiObs serves the same dashboards over HTTP and HTTPS on your local network. A laptop, a NOC screen or a colleague's tablet can follow the capture while the mobile device stays next to the equipment. Access needs a token, shown in the app as text and as a QR code.

FROM A HOME LAB TO A DATACENTER
• Home labs and learning: see your lab's syslog, flows and traps without an observability stack
• Events and large facilities: find out why gate ticket scanners time out, and follow wireless controller roaming and 802.1X events
• Datacenters: an independent view of syslog, flows and linkDown/linkUp traps during a change window
• Branch and retail: see VPN, DHCP and authentication events next to the traffic filling the uplink
• Field service and MSPs: bring your own collector to a customer network

SENDER AND TEST TRAFFIC
Generate syslog, NXLog-style Windows events, NetFlow v5/v9, IPFIX, sFlow and SNMP traps towards another MobiObs device or any collector, with presets and rate control, to prove that a firewall path works before blaming the exporter.

PEERS AND PAIRING
Other MobiObs devices on the LAN are found by broadcast and mDNS. Peers can also be added by address or by scanning a pairing QR code.

RUNS WITH THE SCREEN OFF
Collection runs in a foreground service with a persistent notification, so it keeps receiving with the screen off or another app open.

PRIVACY
Everything MobiObs receives is stored on the device that received it. Nothing leaves the device unless you export it, send it with Sender or Replay, or open the web UI with its token. No account, no analytics, no advertising. Works offline and on air-gapped networks.

PERMISSIONS
• Notifications: required for the foreground service notification
• Location: optional, requested only when you tap "Show Wi-Fi details", because Android reveals the Wi-Fi name (SSID) only to apps with this permission. MobiObs never reads or stores your location
• Camera: optional, used only to scan another device's pairing QR code

FREE, PRO AND TEAM
The Free tier includes every collector, live view, dashboards and the web UI, with 1 hour of retention. MobiObs never drops data from a source because of your tier. Pro adds unlimited retention, SNMPv3 users, unlimited test traffic, replay, export (JSON, NDJSON, CSV) and custom TLS certificates. Team adds per-seat licenses with your organization name.
