Jabs is a social and dating app for adults 18+ who want to make friends nearby or get to know a possible partner. Meet people nearby and start a conversation when interest goes both ways.

Meet new people at your own pace
Choose to turn Nearby on and allow location access in the app. Jabs shows users who are nearby and active at that time. The range is up to approximately 100 metres when both people use Android versions that support it and both choose the 100-metre range. If either person does not choose it or uses an older Android version or iOS, the range remains approximately 30 metres. The approximate range depends on GPS and the environment; it is not a directory of everyone around you.

Show interest, then start a conversation
Send a Jab to someone you would like to get to know. They decide whether to show interest back. Chat opens when both people are interested. You can continue the conversation, end the connection, or block or report through the app if you are uncomfortable. Inviting friends is optional, not a condition for opening chat.

Friendship, dating and room to choose
Whether you want a new friend or are looking for a relationship, explain what you are looking for and listen to the other person. Mutual interest in the app does not commit either person to meeting in person, exchanging contact details or keeping a conversation going. You both choose what happens next.

Before you get started
Jabs is for adults 18+. Other users need to be active nearby, so meeting someone, receiving a reply or finding a date is not guaranteed. Choose when you are ready to turn Nearby on, and respect each other’s decisions. On Android, an active Nearby session may continue in the background or with the screen off, with a radar notification that includes a stop action.

Before you chat
Messages expire 15 seconds after sending, even if unread. Recipients may still capture or record the screen. App use requires an account, sign-in, email verification and acceptance of the current terms.
