Ochess teaches chess openings the way they are played at your level.

Courses are built for rating ranges from 1400 to 2200. Instead of memorising master theory you may never meet, you learn the moves your opponents actually play at your rating, drawn from millions of rated Lichess games, and what to do against each of them.

COURSES
• 40+ opening courses for White and Black: London System, Caro-Kann, Italian, Ruy Lopez, Sicilian Najdorf, Nimzo-Indian, Queen's Gambit Accepted, Scandinavian, Budapest, Englund and more
• Pick your rating and study the lines that matter there
• Courses you have opened stay on your phone for offline study

TRAINING
• Play the moves yourself while the course answers with your opponent's replies
• Spaced repetition brings chapters back for review at growing intervals
• A hint when you are stuck; a wrong move is shown and taken back
• Train one chapter, a whole branch, or a shuffled selection
• Track your progress course by course

PUZZLES AND TRAPS
• Puzzle sets for the openings of each course
• Opening traps people really fall for, with the line that punishes the mistake

YOUR GAMES
• Your imported games with engine analysis: accuracy, mistakes and the turning points
• Analyse games you have not analysed yet, right from your phone
• Your openings: where you lose points, with the course or trap that fits
• Explore your own games move by move

LABS
• Open the move trees you built on ochess.app, add moves and chapters, and train them on your phone

Without an account you can try the first line of every course, ten puzzles a day and all the traps. A free account, made in the app with Google or with email, opens every course and puzzle, and brings your games, labs and engine evaluation. The same account works on ochess.app.

Engine analysis runs on the Ochess server, so it needs an internet connection.
