Pressure Alert System (PAS) helps caregivers stay ahead of pressure injuries. The app connects to PAS Bluetooth pressure sensors worn by at-risk patients, tracks how long pressure has been applied at each body location, and sounds a reposition alert when it is time to turn the patient.

PAS is designed for hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, and home care settings where patients have limited mobility and are at risk of developing pressure injuries (bedsores or pressure ulcers).

HOW IT WORKS
• Place PAS sensors at the body locations you want to monitor.
• The app pairs with the sensors over Bluetooth Low Energy and displays each one on a color-coded body map.
• When pressure at a location continues past its configured threshold, the app issues an audible, spoken reposition prompt.
• Once the patient is repositioned, the app tracks the relief period before that location is considered recovered.

KEY FEATURES
• Body map view – See every monitored location at a glance: skull, upper spine, sacrum, elbows, hips, ischia, and heels.
• Color-coded status – Instantly tell whether a location has no pressure, recent pressure, active pressure, an alarm, or a relieved alarm. Battery, inactive, and offline sensor states are also shown.
• Spoken reposition alerts – Clear voice prompts such as "roll over to your right side please," available in English, Spanish, French, and Russian.
• Configurable alarms – Adjust alarm thresholds, alert sound, volume, and alert duration per location to fit care protocols.
• Wound tracking – Flag locations with an existing wound and record wound dimensions and onset date.
• Pressure event history – Review a time-stamped log of pressure events, alarms, repositioning, and pauses, and export it for documentation.
• Pause and resume – Temporarily pause monitoring for procedures or transfers, and log when the patient was turned by a caregiver.
• Care portal integration – Securely sync patient assignments, settings, and pressure events with the Position Health care portal.
• Offline mode – Keep monitoring without an internet connection. Data syncs automatically when connectivity returns.
• Dedicated device mode – Runs as a focused, pinned app on a bedside tablet and resumes monitoring automatically after a restart.
• Secure by design – Credentials and settings are stored encrypted on the device, and all portal communication uses HTTPS.

TABLET DASHBOARD
On tablets, PAS shows the pressure event history, body map, controls, and alert legend together on one screen, making it ideal for bedside or nursing-station use.

REQUIREMENTS
• PAS pressure sensors from Position Health LLC (sold separately).
• An Android phone or tablet with Bluetooth Low Energy, running Android 8.1 or later.
• Bluetooth and location permissions, which Android requires to discover and connect to nearby Bluetooth sensors.
• A Position Health care portal account is optional. Offline mode works without one.

IMPORTANT
PAS is a monitoring and reminder tool to support caregivers. It does not replace clinical judgment, regular skin assessments, or your facility's pressure injury prevention protocols. Always follow the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional.
