Smartybones is a family learning app that parents use with their kids. Skelly, a friendly cartoon skeleton, hosts short activities that turn everyday moments into quick lessons you can explore together: counting, simple math, reading labels and healthy habits.

The first activity is the Candy Counter. More activities are on the way.

FIRST ACTIVITY: CANDY COUNTER
Turn the trick-or-treat haul into a counting and nutrition lesson. Spread the candy on the table and take one photo, or count by hand together. Skelly counts the pieces and adds up the sugar using US nutrition-label data. Enter your child's age and she shows how many days of the American Heart Association's added-sugar limit (under 25 g a day for ages 2 to 18) are in the bag, plus a simple pacing plan, such as "1 piece a day lasts 27 days".
• Count from one photo, or count by hand with no photo at all (works offline)
• Sugar per piece from US labels (USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts); estimates are marked "est."
• Total grams and teaspoons, days of sugar, and a pacing plan
• "Share my haul" picture card that shows the count only: no photo, no name, no age
• Parents' guides: fun-size sugar chart, how much candy per day by age, FAQ

LEARN AND LAUGH TOGETHER
Skelly tells jokes and riddles and shows off her dance moves, so a quick lesson feels like play.

MORE ACTIVITIES ON THE WAY
Grown-ups can choose to get an email when new activities arrive. The sign-up sits behind a grown-ups question and needs a ticked consent box. Unsubscribe anytime.

MADE FOR PARENTS, PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No ads, no accounts, no in-app purchases
• The parts a child plays with (sample bag, count by hand, jokes, riddles, dances) collect no personal data; only cookieless visit counts
• Photo scanning, feedback, email updates and optional AI features start with a quick grown-ups question. Only a "passed" flag is saved on the phone; no age or birth year is asked for or stored
• Skelly doesn't store your photos. A scanned photo is sent to Google Gemini (Cloudflare Workers AI as backup) only to count the candy. Google may keep it for up to 55 days only to check for abuse. Tip: photograph just the candy, not faces
• The age you type and the sugar math stay on your phone
• Visit statistics are cookieless (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
