TourGuide — your story-driven audio companion on the road

TourGuide turns travel into a guided experience. As you drive or explore, chapters play at the right moment — timed to your route and where you are — so you hear the story when it matters, not all at once in a parking lot.

Whether you’re on a long highway stretch or moving through a destination, TourGuide adapts: corridor stories on the approach, stop-by-stop narration when you arrive, and a clear path to browse what’s ahead while the guide keeps running
How it works

Choose a journey — open a trip pack with curated stops, stories, and practical tips.
Start your trip — grant location access so chapters can trigger while you travel.
Listen as you go — audio plays automatically in Drive Mode, or on demand when you explore.
Pick up where you left off — active trips can continue after the app is closed or restarted.
Features

🎧 Adaptive audio chapters — narration ordered and triggered by proximity and estimated arrival, so stories finish as places come into view.

🚗 Drive Mode — a focused, hands-friendly screen for active travel with playback controls and trip management.

🗺️ Explore while you travel — browse the itinerary, map, and chapter details without stopping the guide session.

🌐 Multilingual narration — pre-recorded audio in supported languages; downloads and caches on your device for smoother playback.

📍 Location-aware guidance — uses GPS (including in the background during an active trip) to decide what to play next.

🔁 Manual controls — replay, skip, deep-dive stories, and open navigation in your maps app when you want directions to a stop.

🔒 Privacy-first onboarding — clear consent for privacy policy and location use before your first trip.

Built for real travel

TourGuide is designed for physical devices with GPS — emulators and desktop testing won’t reflect the full experience. A network connection helps for maps, routing, weather details, and first-time narration downloads; cached audio improves playback once files are on your device.

Permissions (why we ask)

Location (while using & in background) — only during an active trip, to trigger the right chapter at the right time.
Notifications — optional progress and guide session status.
Network — journey content, maps, and updates.
We don’t sell your personal data. See our privacy policy in the app for full details.
