Qompass is a secure QR code scanner and barcode reader that shows you where a QR code really leads – before you open the link.

Scammers stick fake QR codes on parking meters, posters and parcels, and send them in emails and letters. This QR code scam is called "quishing" – QR phishing. One scan can take you to a page that looks like your bank, a delivery company or PayPal, and steals your password or card details. Qompass works as a link checker for every code you scan: it analyses the link on your phone and warns you before anything opens.

WHAT THE QR SCANNER CHECKS
• The real destination – the main domain is shown in large type, so a fake address can't hide inside a long link
• Look-alike domains, such as paypa1.com instead of paypal.com
• Brand names in the wrong place, e.g. yourbank.com.secure-login.top
• Characters from other alphabets that imitate Latin letters (punycode)
• Links with a user name or password before the address
• IP addresses instead of domain names
• Link shorteners that hide the destination
• Unencrypted http:// connections, unusual ports and suspicious domain endings
• Dangerous files, such as .apk apps downloaded from a QR code
• Open and weakly protected Wi-Fi networks

NEVER OPENS A LINK ON ITS OWN
A link opens only when you tap “Open in browser”. High-risk links need a second confirmation, and dangerous link types (javascript:, data:, intent: and similar) are blocked. If a photo contains several codes, Qompass lets you choose – fake stickers are often placed over real ones.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Links are analysed on your phone, offline – the content of your scans never leaves your device
• No account needed
• Scanning uses Google's code scanner, so Qompass doesn't even need camera permission
• Your scan history stays on your phone and is excluded from cloud backups
• Delete single entries or the whole history at any time

QR CODE READER, BARCODE SCANNER AND QR CODE GENERATOR
• Scan QR codes and barcodes (EAN, UPC) with the camera or from a photo in your gallery
• Batch scanning – scan one code after another, each checked right away
• Links, Wi-Fi, contact cards, email, phone numbers, SMS, locations and plain text
• Scan history with search and filters
• QR code generator for links, text, Wi-Fi and contact cards – share your codes as images
• Light and dark mode
• 15 languages

QOMPASS PRO – OPTIONAL ONE-TIME PURCHASE
The QR scanner, link checks, batch scanning and QR code generator work without Pro. Pro adds:
• No ads
• Unlimited scan history (without Pro, your last 50 scans are kept)
• Export your history to a CSV file
• QR codes with your logo and colours

No QR code scanner can guarantee that a website is safe. Qompass shows you the warning signs, so you can decide before you open a link.
