Bring Armenian storytime home.

Step into a world of clever characters, colorful villages and stories passed from one generation to the next. Three Apples brings Armenian fairy tales, legends, myths and fables (hekiatner, հեքիաթներ) to Android phones and tablets as animated, read-aloud children's books, with narration and music made for each tale.

Read together, listen along like an audio book, or hide the words and enjoy the pictures. There is something to discover on every page.

60+ tales to explore
Discover tales inspired by Hovhannes Tumanyan, Ghazaros Aghayan, Khnko Aper and other Armenian writers, alongside ancient legends, the epic Daredevils of Sassoun and stories from the Armenian folk tradition: Kikos, Brave Nazar, Hayk and Bel, Zoulvisia, Manuk Khan, Great Mher, Tigran and Azhdahak, Merry Hasan and many more. Find your next story by author, length or Armenian language.

Follow the story, word by word
Listen to the narration while the words light up on the page. Adjust the text size and highlighting to suit your reader, or turn off the text to enjoy the animated artwork.

Pages that come alive
Characters blink and talk along with the narration. Tap the people, animals and things to discover their little movements, surprises and sounds. On a phone, a gentle tilt moves the view through a window.

A quiz after every tale
When a story ends, play a quiz about it. Children answer questions about the tale they have just heard, in the language they listened in, by choosing a picture or a sentence, and collect apples for their right answers. Try the first questions free with The Liar and Kikos; subscribers play every quiz in full, with a new mix of questions each time.

Bedtime: tales like an audiobook
For subscribers: choose a few tales and hear them one after another, with soft music, even with the screen locked. Stop after the list, a few tales or a set time, and carry on the next evening.

Eastern and Western Armenian
Each tale is clearly labeled Eastern or Western Armenian, making it easy to find familiar favorites and discover something new. Every story pairs Armenian text with Armenian narration, and every tale can also be read and heard in English and Russian: a gentle way for children to learn the Armenian language (hayeren). Menus are available in English, Armenian and Russian.

Read to them in your own voice
Subscribers can record themselves reading any tale, page by page, so a child hears it in a parent's or grandparent's familiar voice, even when you're away. Recordings are made and kept only on your device: they are never sent to us or anyone else, and they aren't included in backups. You can delete them at any time in the Parents screen.

Start with two free stories
The Liar and Kikos are free, with no subscription needed. Both are built into the app and work offline.

A subscription opens every other tale in the library, every quiz in full, Bedtime, and recording the tales in your own voice, while it is active. Choose a monthly or yearly plan that renews automatically, or a month or a year paid once, which suits a child's Google Account supervised by a parent.

Subscription tales download from Google Play and can then be read offline. Google Play confirms the subscription at least once every 14 days, so go online now and then to keep them open.

A quieter space for families
No ads, accounts, analytics or tracking. Reading history, quiz scores, preferences and your voice recordings stay on your device and are not sent to Markael Studio. Purchases, parent settings and outside links sit behind a parental gate.

About subscriptions
Your local price is shown before you buy. Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until canceled in Google Play: open the Play Store, then Payments & subscriptions. Uninstalling the app doesn't cancel a subscription. Restore a purchase from the Parents screen. The two free stories remain available after a subscription ends.

Requires Android 13 or later.
