Capture a voice memo the moment an idea happens.

FlipRecorder is a fast, local voice recorder for Android. Enable Flip Recording, place your phone face-down to start recording, then turn it face-up to save. A discreet vibration confirms both actions, so you can focus on the interview, lecture, meeting or thought instead of searching for a record button.

Fast flip-to-record workflow

- Start audio recording by placing your phone face-down.
- Save automatically when you turn it face-up.
- Keep recording with the screen off after you explicitly enable Flip Recording.
- Disable the sensor at any time from the app or notification button.
- View a live timer and waveform while recording.

Organize every voice note

- Browse a clean local recording library.
- Search recording names and comments.
- Mark important recordings as favorites.
- Replay audio with clear playback controls.
- Restore deleted recordings from Recently Deleted for up to 30 days.

Local recording by design

Your recordings are stored on your device as efficient M4A audio files. No FlipRecorder account is required, and FlipRecorder does not upload your recordings to a server. You decide when to save or share a copy.

Useful for

- Journalists capturing interviews and quotes
- Students recording lectures and study notes
- Writers saving ideas and creative voice memos
- Professionals recording meeting notes
- Anyone who wants a quick audio recorder without navigating menus

Free and Premium

The Free plan includes Flip Recording, local playback, search, favourites and recording organization, with recording-length limits shown in the app.

A one-time Premium upgrade unlocks unlimited recording length subject to available device storage, pause, resume and seek playback, comments, save and share tools, and removes banner and interstitial ads. Premium remains linked to your Google Play account.

Android requires a visible notification while Flip Recording is enabled in the background. Microphone permission is used for audio recording. You can disable Flip Recording at any time.
