Point Hope Connect is an independent community app, built and run by homeowners of Point Hope on the Cainhoy peninsula in Charleston, South Carolina. It is not operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by the Point Hope Property Owners Association (the POA, officially Cainhoy Town Association, Inc.).

Membership is limited to Point Hope residents. Join by confirming your Point Hope address against county property records, or by entering an invite code from an app admin.

Once you're a member, you'll find:

Feed: neighbor posts, photos, polls, reactions and comments, plus community announcements and local news about Point Hope, our builders, and city and county items, gathered daily from local sources (including items summarized from the POA's own public newsletter, always labeled by source).

Forum: boards for every interest, General, For Sale & Free, Local Eats, and more, plus hobby groups you can start yourself. Post anonymously if you'd rather, with link previews and photo uploads, plus a heads up if a neighbor already started something similar.

Messages: private, one-on-one conversations with another resident, with photo uploads, mute, report, and block.

Profiles and badges: add your interests so the Feed can recommend events and groups made for you, and earn badges for being an active part of the community.

Events: see what's happening nearby, RSVP with your guest count, save favorites, and get reminders.

Vendors: local service businesses recommended by neighbors, not endorsed by the POA. Add vendors you use and leave reviews with photos. Check with the POA about approvals, like DRB review, before starting work on your home.

Ask about the rules: ask plain questions about our covenants, design guidelines, and policies, answered by AI from the actual POA documents. It's a convenience, not legal advice, and when the documents don't have an answer, you can email your question straight to the POA office.

POA documents: governing documents, policies, forms, and financials in one place, for reference.

Report an issue: send a report on lighting, drainage, roads, or common areas, with photos and location. Reports go to the app's own team, not the POA.

Lost and Found Pets: post a lost or found pet, and neighbors get notified.

Emergency Alerts: community alerts, plus automatic National Weather Service warnings for our area.

Search: find a forum thread, event, document, vendor, or post from one search box.

Seasonal hubs: a Halloween candy sign-up sheet and "Boo us!" for a bit of neighborhood fun, with more seasonal features planned.
