Nine framing calculators that work with no signal, no account and no sign-up. Built for carpenters, framers, deck builders and anyone who has ever stood in a lumber yard doing arithmetic on their phone.

WHAT IT WORKS OUT

Lumber calculator: how many pieces a framing run needs at any spacing on centre, the total linear feet, and what it costs at your price per piece.

Board foot calculator: thickness, width, length and quantity into board feet. Hardwood is priced by the board foot and softwood is not, which is what makes the two hard to compare; this does the conversion.

Stud calculator: the studs, plates and nails a wall needs, including the extra studs at corners and intersections that a plain spacing calculation misses.

Joist calculator: floor and deck joists, plus the hangers and blocking that go with them.

Stair calculator: riser height, tread depth and stringer length to code, from the total rise and the run you have.

Deck calculator: deck boards, joists and screws, with the gap between boards already accounted for.

Railing calculator: balusters and posts for a railing that meets the four inch sphere rule.

Plywood calculator: sheets of plywood or OSB to cover an area, with your own waste allowance.

Subfloor calculator: sheets of subfloor plywood or OSB a room needs.

FEET AND INCHES, THE WAY YOU WRITE THEM

Type 8' 6 1/2" and it understands you. Type 8' 6, or 6 1/2, or 102, or 8.5: it understands those too, and it shows you the trade reading of whatever it parsed so you can see it got you right before you trust the answer. No converting fractions to decimals in your head, and no decimal answer you then have to convert back at the saw.

JOBS AND MATERIAL LISTS

Name a job, send results to it from any calculator, and the material list builds itself. Export it as plain text straight into a message or an email to your supplier. No spreadsheet, no laptop, no app they need to install to read it.

WORKS WHERE YOU WORK

The app makes no network request of any kind. It runs in a basement, a crawlspace, a lift, or forty miles past the last bar of signal. Nothing you enter leaves your phone: there is no account, no cloud, no analytics and nothing to sign up for.

WASTE, HANDLED HONESTLY

Add a waste allowance where waste is a real thing: offcuts, defects, the piece you ruin. It is offered only on the calculators where it means something. It is never applied to a dimension like a riser height, and never added twice on the calculators that already build it in.

THE ARITHMETIC

Every formula is the one published on calcpit.com and is verified against the same test cases each time the app is built. The formula is shown on each screen so you can check the working rather than take it on faith.

FREE

Every calculator is free, with no limit on how often you use them, no ads and nothing to buy. Saved jobs, the full history and material list export are all included.
