Overthrow Academy is the disc golf training app from Overthrow Disc Golf. It is built on one idea: a throw that holds up under pressure is built in order, and you can measure whether yours is.

Start without an account. The Film Room is free: film a throw or bring a slow motion clip in from your camera roll, step through it one frame at a time, and draw on it to see what your body is really doing. Practice is free too. Putting has Keep It 100 and Sevens. Field Work has Gap Work, Landing Zone and Distance Field Work. The Simulator lets you throw on a 3D field with no gear at all. The app keeps every session so you can watch your numbers move.

Your rating is three skills: Drive, Approach and Putt. The Tour Round is ten called shots on one walk, and it moves Drive and Approach. The Putting League is one official round a week, filmed on your phone and scored by voice or by tap, and it moves Putt. The Distance Comp is five throws with one disc. You can play a practice round of each for free, and official rounds count for members. Each competition has a weekly board and a season board. The top three each season win cosmetic rewards: a theme, a crown for Ollie, the app's mascot, and an emblem on their profile.

The Academy is the lesson library: courses on the backhand and the forehand in the order a coach would teach them, with progress that follows you between the app and overthrowdiscgolf.academy. The second lesson of every module is free to watch without joining.

Members also get Fitness, with workouts and plans built for disc golfers, and an early look at Auto Capture, which films each throw for you hands-free. Your training results back up to your account and follow you to a new phone or tablet.

The Academy membership is 12.99 US dollars a month, charged through Google Play when you confirm the purchase. It renews every month until you cancel, and you can cancel any time from your Google Play subscriptions. Access runs to the end of the month you have paid for. The price in your own currency is shown in the app before you buy.
