Jinbu is an all-in-one app for learning Chinese to fluency. It combines comprehensible input, Chinese character mnemonics, short reading exercises and illustrated stories, native-speaker audio, vocabulary review, speaking practice, and a personalized learning path.

MASTER CHINESE CHARACTERS WITH MNEMONICS

Jinbu makes learning Chinese characters easier with memorable visuals and mnemonic stories that connect each character’s meaning to its components.

The characters you learn reappear in stories, vocabulary review, and your learning path.

LEARN THROUGH CHINESE MADE FOR YOUR LEVEL

Jinbu teaches through comprehensible input: Chinese chosen to be understandable at your current level while introducing new words.

Learn with short reading exercises and illustrated stories paired with audio from native Chinese speakers. Content follows the i+1 principle, staying just above your current level so you keep encountering new words and characters in context.

TAP ANY WORD TO LEARN IT IN CONTEXT

Tap any unfamiliar word to see its meaning, hear its pronunciation, and save it for later without leaving what you’re reading.

REVIEW VOCABULARY WITH SPACED REPETITION

Save words, phrases, and characters and review them with spaced repetition.

Follow Jinbu’s recommended review or create a custom review session.

TRAIN LISTENING AND SPEAKING WITH NATIVE SPEAKERS

Every story includes native-speaker audio. Listen while you read, then repeat sentences aloud to practice pronunciation and natural rhythm.

FOLLOW A PERSONALIZED LEARNING PATH

Jinbu tracks the words and characters you know and uses that information to personalize what you learn next.

TRACK REAL LANGUAGE PROGRESS

See how many words and characters you know and your estimated coverage of everyday written Chinese.

Progress is based on the language you’ve learned, not only app activity.

BACKED BY RESEARCH

Jinbu is built on the principle that language is acquired by understanding meaningful messages, not only by memorizing rules.[2]

Research behind this approach has found vocabulary learning up to 4.1× faster in relevant story-listening conditions.[1]
