PraatMet helps you learn to speak Dutch the way you actually use it: in real conversations.
Talk anytime with an AI conversation partner. No scheduling, no pressure, no judgement. Pick a situation and start speaking.

Practise the conversations you'll actually have
Skip flashcards and drills. Choose from 45+ everyday situations in the Netherlands, such as:
• Ordering at a café or bakery
• Shopping and asking for help
• Booking an appointment at the doctor or the gemeente
• Introducing yourself and making small talk
Your partner plays a real role, like a receptionist, a neighbour or a shop assistant, and replies naturally, with follow-up questions, so you practise clear, polite, real-world Dutch.

A real Dutch situation every day
Your first conversation tells us your level. After that, Home gives you a daily mission that fits it, and Review & Retry brings back the moments you found hard, so every session is focused.
Each situation has clear goals you can tick off as you speak.

Read along with live captions
Your partner's words appear on screen as they are spoken, so you can read along while you listen. Prefer to train your ear? Turn captions off with one tap.

Feedback that builds your confidence
After each conversation you get clear, practical feedback:
• An overall score
• What you did well, quoted from your own words
• What to keep practising (grammar, word order, vocabulary)
• Corrected sentences with a short explanation
Read back the full transcript and see your progress over time.

Why PraatMet works
Speaking is the hardest part of learning a language, and the most important. Most apps teach you to recognise Dutch, not to speak it.
PraatMet gives you a patient speaking partner who is always available, so you can:
• Make mistakes without embarrassment
• Repeat a conversation until it feels natural
• Practise anytime, even for a few minutes
• Build real confidence for life in the Netherlands
