Fall asleep to your audiobook, music or rain sounds, and let Volmem gently turn them off once you're asleep.

Volmem is a sleep timer and alarm for people who listen in bed. Pick how long, tap Start and close your eyes. When the time is up, the sound slowly fades out and pauses, so your book doesn't play all night and you don't lose your place. In the morning, an alarm can wake you through your earbuds, so no one else hears it. Volmem isn't connected to the internet, so it can't send anything about you to anyone, not even to us.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Quick timer: pick the minutes on the moon and tap Start. Whatever is playing fades out and pauses when the time is up.
2. Routines: save a timer, a sound and an alarm together, like "Weeknights" or "Nap". Start one with one tap.
3. Start by itself: a routine can start on its own when your book or music begins playing at bedtime.
4. The screen dims when the timer starts, with a photo of the Orion Nebula drifting slowly behind the time left. Tap once to see the time, twice for 15 more minutes, or choose what your taps do. Prefer black? It can turn the screen off instead.

SOUNDS TO FALL ASLEEP TO
• Your own audiobook or music app, like Audible or Spotify. A Spotify song or playlist link works too.
• 11 nature sounds built in: ocean waves, thunderstorm, rain on a tin roof, crickets, a crackling fire and more.
• Or a sound file from your phone.

ALARMS
• Ring in your earbuds or headphones only, on your phone's speaker, or on a Bluetooth speaker you choose.
• Starts quiet and gets louder. You set how loud, how slowly it starts, and how long it rings.
• Stop or snooze right from the lock screen, like any alarm clock.
• Still rings if your phone restarted in the night.
• An alarm for "in 2 hours", for a nap: pick how long, not a clock time.
• Wake up to a tone, a nature sound, your own sound file, or your music app.
• Widgets for your home screen: start a routine or the quick timer with one tap, switch alarms on and off. You choose what each widget shows.
• A Quick Settings tile starts the sleep timer with one tap.

ALSO: A VOLUME FOR EACH APP
Volmem started as "volume memory". Set a separate volume for each app, so Audible and Spotify each play at the level you like, and each Bluetooth device keeps its own. It's on the Volumes page.

WHAT VOLMEM CAN AND CANNOT DO
• The sleep timer pauses most audio and video apps. A few video apps ignore the pause; turn on "Go to the Home screen when the timer ends" in Settings and they stop too. Otherwise Volmem keeps them silent until you pick up your phone.
• A music app alarm plays what that app played last. Android doesn't let one app choose a song inside another app at alarm time.
• Your phone has one media volume. Volmem sets it for the app you're using; it can't play two apps at different volumes at the same time.
• Light or dark, as you like, in Settings.

PERMISSIONS, IN PLAIN WORDS
Volmem asks for each one only when you use the feature that needs it.
• Notifications: to show your sleep timer and to ring your alarm on the lock screen. Volmem never sends ads.
• Alarms & reminders: so alarms ring on time and Start by itself is ready at bedtime.
• Notification access (only for Start by itself and Volumes): to see which app is playing. Volmem never reads your notifications or messages.
• Usage access (only for Volumes): to see which app is on your screen. Volmem never keeps a history of the apps you use.
• Nearby devices (optional): to tell your Bluetooth headphones, speaker and car apart.
• Display over other apps (optional, only for "Go to the Home screen when the timer ends"): so Volmem can take you back to the Home screen when the timer ends.
