ShortHand is free to use for core classroom documentation. Optional Pro features add additional tools, including positive student shout-outs and Ask ShortHand.

Pro feature: Ask ShortHand about a student

ShortHand can use a student’s saved notes to help answer questions about information you’ve already documented. Ask a question about a student and ShortHand can look through the notes you’ve already documented to help you find relevant information and summarize what you’ve recorded.

This can make it easier to prepare for parent communication, conferences, meetings, reports, and student support discussions without manually searching through months of notes.

AI-assisted teacher tools

ShortHand uses teacher-provided notes and information to help create useful first drafts and answers. Teachers remain in control of reviewing, editing, and deciding how that information is used.

ShortHand is built for real classroom use. It helps teachers capture what happened while the details are still fresh, then make better use of that documentation later.

Catch problems before they become calls home.
