Number Knockout helps you play National Number Knockout, the three-dice maths game. Roll three dice, then use all three numbers, with +, -, ×, ÷, powers and parentheses, to make the numbers 1 to 36.

HELPER MODE
Enter your three dice and tap Calculate. A board of 1 to 36 shows at a glance which numbers your roll can make. Tap any number to see every equation that makes it, grouped as simple equations, equations with powers, and equations that need a power of zero. Numbers that can only be made with a power of zero are highlighted in gold.

GAME MODE
Roll the dice (or type your own), pick a target number and build an equation to hit it. Build it on a keypad with just your dice and the symbols you need (a die greys out once you have used it), or choose each power, operator and bracket from dropdowns. Check your answer, and solve every number you can to win. Stuck? A Hint gives you the start of an answer, and Reveal Answer shows one example. Your progress is saved, so you can pick up an unfinished game later.

PRACTICE
One number at a time. The app rolls the dice and picks a number to make; build the equation and the next question comes straight up. Choose Easy, Medium or Hard in Settings, or play a round of 10 questions and see your score at the end. Keep a streak going by solving without a Hint, Reveal Answer or Skip. Every question you solve or skip is kept in History, so you can see what you did.

DAILY CHALLENGE
A new roll every day, the same for everyone, so you can compare with friends. Solve it to build a daily streak. Turn on an optional reminder in Settings and tap the notification to open the challenge.

PROGRESS
See how you are getting on: numbers solved, games finished, Practice questions and rounds, and your daily streak. A grid of the numbers 1 to 36 shows which ones are strong, getting there or need work, and which to practise next. It all stays on your device.

PARENT PIN
Set a four-digit parent PIN so a child can play without seeing the answers. Seeing the equations behind a number in Helper Mode, Hint and Reveal Answer all ask for the PIN. A number you open stays open for that roll so your child can read it again; a new roll asks again. "Unlock timer" opens everything for 5 to 60 minutes, a padlock shows the PIN is on, and Settings always asks. A recovery code is there if you forget it.

RULES YOUR WAY
- Whole-number division only, as in the official game

- Choose the highest die number, from 1 to 12
- History keeps your past rolls and games
- Light and dark themes, a layout that works on phones and tablets, and TalkBack support
