Your TV deserves a warmer glow.

Fireside Terminal turns your TV into a crackling holiday fireplace — rendered entirely in living ASCII art, like a fireplace channel broadcast from 1986. There is no video loop and nothing to stream: every flame is computed in real time by a heat-diffusion fire simulation and drawn character by character on a glowing retro terminal. The fire never repeats, and the whole app runs completely offline.

STOKE THE FIRE
Tend it like a real fire. Feed it OXYGEN for a fiercer, hotter burn, or pile on FUEL to send the flames climbing higher. You are not choosing presets — you are adjusting the simulation itself, and the fire responds instantly.

THREE TERMINAL THEMES
Recolor the entire screen with one click:
- DEFAULT — the timeless orange blaze
- CLASSIC — the same fire on bright terminal white
- B/W — stark black-and-white

EIGHTEEN CAROLS, SYNTHESIZED LIVE
PC SPEAKER mode performs classic Christmas carols on an emulated 8-bit game-console sound chip: two square-wave voices, a triangle bass, and noise-channel percussion. Jingle Bells, Silent Night, Carol of the Bells, O Holy Night, Deck the Halls, Joy to the World, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, We Three Kings, and ten more — all public-domain carols in a rotation that plays all evening. Every note is generated on the device in real time. No audio files, no streaming, no repeats.

COMING SOON: THE PREMIUM PACK
A future update adds a one-time premium unlock:
- THE CRT EFFECT — a full CRT monitor treatment: a soft phosphor glow that blooms off the brightest flames, scanlines, and a gently darkened vignette. Squint and you would swear it is a tube TV.
- KILLER KARD — a deep, synthesized fireplace soundscape: low roar, shifting embers, and random crackles that never loop.
- FIVE BONUS THEMES — ABYSS (cool deep-sea blues rising into seafoam), PRISM (a full rainbow-spectrum burn), ALEJANDRA (neon magenta and violet, pure synthwave), 1978 (green phosphor, straight off a vintage terminal), and AMBER (warm amber monochrome, the late-night programmer's choice).
Selecting a premium feature today shows a retro BIOS preview of what is on the way.

BURNS ALL NIGHT
The screen stays awake while the fire burns — no screensaver will interrupt your ambience. Leave it running through dinner, the gift exchange, and the last cup of cocoa.

COZY AND PRIVATE
No network required. No ads. No accounts. No data collection. Just fire.

Whether it is the backdrop for your holiday party, ambience for a retro game room, a companion for a snowy evening of coding, or simply the world's warmest screensaver, Fireside Terminal brings the hearth your terminal always wanted.

Pull up a chair. The fire is already lit.
