This is the app grandmothers and grandfathers welcome most of all.

If your mother, father, grandmother or grandfather can no longer read the small print on a phone, put this on their phone.

88Phone was made for parents and grandparents who find calling hard. No scrolling through a contact list. Their family is on the screen as large photos with large names, and one tap on a card places the call.

■ Easy to see
· Photos and names that fill the screen
· Five text sizes - normal, large, larger, largest, and fit to the screen
· One card per row makes everything bigger still
· Or hide the photo and show only the name, very large
· Dark screen at night

■ It finds the family on first run
It reads the names already in the contacts - Mum, Dad, Son - and puts those people on the cards. Usable the moment it is installed.

■ An emergency number within reach
Keep 911, 112, 999 or whichever number fits the country on a card of its own.

■ Easy for a son, daughter or grandchild to set up
· A first-run screen that asks for language, text size and photo shape, one at a time
· Press and hold a card to move it
· For people with no photo, pick a picture instead - taxi, hospital, pharmacy

■ Texting without a keyboard
Send a sentence by choosing it: "Please call me", "I love you", "Have you eaten?". The ones used most move to the top.

■ Never miss who called
When a call is missed, that person's card blinks. You see a face, not a number.

■ No ads
There is no advertising anywhere in this app. Nobody taps an ad while trying to make a call.

■ Nothing leaves the phone
Contacts and call history stay on the device. No account to create, nothing sent to a server.

■ Free to use
Four people and four sentences are free. One single payment opens plenty of room for more people, raises the sentences to sixteen and lets you write your own. It is not a monthly charge.

■ Who it is for
· Parents and grandparents who struggle to place a call on a smartphone
· Anyone who finds it hard to search a contact list
· Anyone whose eyes make small text hard to read
· Sons, daughters and grandchildren looking for an easy phone app for a parent or grandparent

Available in Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, Vietnamese, Thai and Indonesian.
