Tired of information overload?
Use your phone more calmly.
Do what you need to do, then put it down.

You pick up your phone to reply to a message and end up scrolling social media or watching videos.
You want some distance from your phone, but still need its everyday essentials.

DumbPhone is a minimal Android home screen app (launcher) for a calmer relationship with your smartphone.
Choose the apps you want in your daily life and display them on a simple, text-based home screen.

Keep calls, messages, maps, your camera and other essentials.
Reduce the temptation to drift into other apps and make it easier to step away.

■ Keep only the apps you need on your home screen
Choose which apps appear on your home screen and arrange them in the order that suits you.
Build your home around what you want in your daily life, not just what you use most often.

■ Find occasional apps with search
Apps removed from home can still be found and opened through search.
Keep fewer apps in sight without uninstalling them.

■ Clear, easy-to-read text
App names appear in large text.
Adjust the text size and choose a light or dark theme, or follow your device settings.

■ Make time to focus
In Focus mode, choose 15, 30 or 60 minutes and limit which apps can be opened from DumbPhone's home screen and search.
You choose the available apps. You can also end the session early or temporarily lift the restriction.

■ Reflect on your usage when you want
Check today's usage time and usage by app.
Notice the apps you open out of habit and consider which ones to keep on your home screen.

■ For anyone who wants to
• Stop picking up their phone without a reason
• Take fewer detours into social media and videos

■ Please note
• Focus mode restricts app launches from DumbPhone's home screen and search. It does not block notifications or app launches through notifications or other routes.
