Senary Launcher replaces the home screen your phone came with.

It is built on AOSP Launcher3, the home screen Android itself ships, and rebuilt
around one idea: everything worth reaching should be reachable with one thumb.

WHAT YOU GET

Quickdrawer
An A-Z app list on the left edge, with a sizeable alphabet loupe for jumping
straight to a letter. Long-press for shortcuts, app info, or to drag an app
onto the home screen.

Shelf
A card surface on the right edge: now playing, weather, your next calendar
event, and any home screen widget you want to keep close without giving it a
page. One swipe further is a news page that reads publisher feeds you choose,
with the article's own picture.

Home editor
Long-press the home screen to rearrange pages, resize icons, add and remove
pages, and set any page as home. Icon packs preview on a live miniature of your
actual desktop before you commit to one.

Page transitions
Parallax, Depth, Cylinder or Sweep, or flat if you would rather. A long sweep
lands where you threw it.

Icon packs
Third-party packs theme the home screen, the dock and the drawer together,
rather than only the drawer.

Search
Search copes with typos, initials and shorthand, and puts the apps you use
first. Settings search tells you which screen each result lives on.

Double-tap to lock
Double-tap an empty spot on the home screen to turn the screen off. Optional,
and it uses an accessibility service: see Privacy below.

Backup
Export your home screen layout to a file you keep. A preview tells you exactly
what restoring one would do, including anything that would not fit.

PRIVACY

The app has no account, no server of mine, and no analytics, crash reporter or
advertising identifier of any kind.

Three things reach the network, and only when you use the feature that needs
them: weather, news headlines, and the pictures and logos that come with those
headlines. A network log inside the app lists every request it makes, so you
can see for yourself rather than take my word for it.

Weather asks for approximate location only. The app does not declare Android's
precise location permission at all, which is why you are never offered the
"Precise" option other apps show you. Coordinates are rounded to roughly a
kilometre before anything is sent. Deny it and the rest of the app works.

Accessibility service: double-tap to lock uses Android's AccessibilityService
API, because that is the only way Android lets a home screen app lock the
screen. It is optional and off until you choose to use it. The first time you
double-tap the home screen, the app explains what the service does, and you
switch it on yourself in Android's Accessibility settings. The service is used
only to lock the screen when you double-tap. It does not read what is on your
screen, it collects no data, and it sends nothing anywhere. Turn it off in
Accessibility settings at any time.
