Ask a question, then listen as words drift in one at a time.

GhostWord is a playful word séance for dark rooms and late nights. It draws words at random from its own word lists, reads each one aloud, and lets you tap the ones that land. When you're done, you get a list of your picks.

For entertainment. Random words from GhostWord's lists. Phone motion can stir the draw; every word stays equally likely. What you make of them is up to you.

How it works
1. Ask your question out loud to the room, or type it in. A question is optional.
2. Pick a word list, or leave it on Auto and GhostWord picks one from your question.
3. Words arrive one at a time and are read aloud. Tap the ones that land.
4. End the session to see your picks, big and easy to read.

What you get
• Spoken words. Your phone's voice reads each new word. Mute it any time, or change the speed and pitch.
• Four word lists: General, Emotional, Spatial and Names, plus Auto.
• Stirred by motion. While a session runs, GhostWord mixes readings from your phone's motion and compass sensors into its random draw, and every word stays equally likely. Words still arrive on your timer, and you can turn the stir off in Settings.
• Your picks. A plain list of the words you marked, at the end of every session.
• Share your picks. Send a picture or text of the words you marked to a friend. It never includes your question.
• History. Every session is saved on your phone, and you can delete any of them.
• Pause and pick up later. Leave mid-session and come back to where you were.
• Made for the dark. Big, readable words on a dark screen, announced to screen readers such as TalkBack.
• Solo or together. Play alone, or put the phone in the middle of the table with friends.

Private by default
No account and no ads. It works offline and doesn't track you. Your questions, picks and history stay on your phone, unless you choose to share your picks. Motion and compass readings stay in memory and are never saved or sent. GhostWord doesn't use your microphone, camera or location.

Good to know
• Voice uses your phone's built-in text-to-speech. If your phone has no voice installed, words stay silent.
• GhostWord is for entertainment only. It isn't advice of any kind.
• Needs Android 7.0 or newer.
