Type or speak in your language. Your contacts read in theirs.
Got a message you don't understand? One tap and it's translated.
A menu, a sign, a label? Take a photo and read it in your language.

Babelo is a keyboard. It works inside WhatsApp, your texts, Instagram, anywhere you type. No copy-paste, no switching apps.

WHAT BABELO DOES

Write in their language
Type your message in your own words. One tap, and it's translated, corrected and natural, ready to send.

Read what you're sent
A message in a language you can't read? One tap on 👁 and the translation appears over it. You can also share any text to Babelo.

Translate a photo
A menu, a street sign, a letter, a product label: take a photo or pick one, and the translation is placed right on the text.

Speak instead of typing
Dictate your message out loud: Babelo transcribes AND translates it, then drops it into the conversation.

Understand voice notes
Someone sends you a voice note in a language you don't speak? Share it to Babelo and read it, transcribed and translated.

Correction that actually gets it
Offline correction in 19 languages (not yet in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Thai, Bengali and Urdu). Babelo figures out what you meant from where your finger landed, handles slang and apostrophes, learns your words and adapts to the way you type.

26 languages
English, French, Hebrew, Arabic, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Hindi, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Italian, Korean, Turkish, Dutch, Polish, Ukrainian, Romanian, Greek, Swedish, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Persian, Bengali, Urdu. The whole app speaks your language too.

FREE TO START
Typing and correction are free. Translations use credits: you get free credits to start and can earn more by watching a short video. Babelo Plus gives unlimited text, photo and voice message translations.

WHO IT'S FOR
Couples and families who don't share a language. People who work with clients abroad. People who just moved to a new country. Travellers. And everyone tired of jumping to a translation app ten times per conversation.

YOUR PRIVACY
Correction and learning happen on your phone, offline. A message is only sent for translation when YOU tap the button, and it is never kept: we store no message text, anywhere.

USE OF ANDROID'S ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE

Babelo uses Android's AccessibilityService API for one feature only: translating a message you have received, right inside the app where you are reading it (WhatsApp, Messenger, SMS, Telegram...).

Why this API is required: Babelo is a keyboard. An Android keyboard can only read the text you type yourself; it has no access to text displayed by another app. The accessibility service is the only way Babelo can see the incoming message you want translated. No narrower API makes this possible.

How it works: once the service is enabled, a small 👁 icon appears next to received messages. When you tap it, Babelo reads the text shown on screen and displays the translation over it.

What Babelo does, and does not do:
• It only reads text when you tap the 👁 icon. Without that action, nothing is read.
• It never reads password fields.
• It does not run in the background and does not monitor your screen.
• The text that is read is sent to Babelo's translation service for that single request. It is not recorded in any Babelo database, and it is never sold or passed to a third party.
• The service declares only the four event types it actually needs.
• You can turn it off at any time in Android Settings > Accessibility. The keyboard, autocorrection and translation of what you write keep working without it.

Babelo is not an accessibility tool and does not declare itself as one.

Babelo. Talk to everyone, in their own language.
