CatalySST SoCal is the offshore intelligence app for Southern California and northern Baja anglers. It puts the ocean's daily picture on one chart — water temperature, chlorophyll, the fleet, and where fish are actually being caught.

WHAT YOU GET

Sea surface temperature
High-resolution SST updated daily, with temperature breaks rendered so you can read edges at a glance. Scrub back through recent days to watch a break set up before you burn fuel on it.

Chlorophyll
300m chlorophyll imagery showing water color and the clean/green edges that concentrate bait.

The fleet, live
AIS positions for the sportfishing fleet, plus fishing-stop detection — where boats actually slowed down and worked, not just where they drove.

Verified catches
Confirmed catches pinned to the chart with species and age, drawn from landing reports and from members on the water.

Daily written report
A read of the last 24 hours across the bight and the islands — what bit, where, and what the water is doing.

Submit your own reports
Log a catch from the boat: species, position, notes, and photos. No signal at the islands is fine — the report and its photos are held on your phone and send themselves the moment you have service.

Buoys and conditions
Live water temperature, swell, and wind from the NOAA buoy network, overlaid on the chart and summarized for the water you are looking at.

COVERAGE
Southern California and northern Baja: the Channel Islands, Catalina, San Clemente, the Coronados, and the offshore banks and canyons.

CatalySST SoCal requires a subscription. Data is refreshed continuously; an internet connection is needed for live layers, with recently viewed chart data cached for use offshore.
