The river is on the other side of the Evil Forest. Nobody who goes in comes back the same.

Amara is a village girl with an empty calabash gourd at her hip and her grandmother's charm in her hand. The village needs water. The forest has other plans.

Nagara Witch is a hand-crafted 2D action platformer inspired by West African folklore. Run, jump, and fight your way through twenty trials across five haunted regions, each ending in a boss that wants you gone.

FIGHT WITH LIGHT
Throw the light of your grandmother's charm, and find four more weapons on the way: the hunter's sling, the calabash, the talking drum, and the spear. Then earn three rare ones: a kpinga that comes back to your hand, Shango's lightning staff, and Mami Wata's mirror, which turns a witch's spells back on her. Hold the button to charge a stronger blow.

SIXTEEN DEMONS, TWENTY BOSSES
Wisps, owls, mud demons, stalkers, fire imps, shield demons, apprentice witches and worse. Every trial ends in a boss fight, from Thornback the Crawler King to the Queen of the Evil Forest herself.

FIVE REGIONS OF NIGHT
The Forest Edge. The Whispering Swamp. The Hollow Woods, where there is no moon. The Burning Grove. And the Heart of the Evil Forest, where the storm never stops and something watches from the trees.

A SOUNDTRACK THAT FIGHTS WITH YOU
An Afrobeat and highlife band plays every region, and the drums, bell and talking drum come in when the demons close in.

THREE LAMPS
Each trial gives you three lamps to come back to. Spend them and the trial starts again from the beginning, unless you pay the ancestors in cowries to get up where you fell.

MORE TO FIND
- Grandmother's beads hidden in every trial, each with something she used to say
- A trader at the crossroads who sells small kindnesses for cowries
- A bestiary of every demon you have met, and deeds the forest remembers you for
- Against the clock: race your best time on any trial
- Story mode for a gentler crossing
