Find your next Wi-Fi stop with WiFi Companion.

Look for a cafe, library, hotel or other public place with listed Wi-Fi. Compare nearby options, check their published details and save the places you want to come back to.

FIND A PLACE TO GET ONLINE
Browse Wi-Fi places in a list or on the map. Choose a city before you travel, or use your location to see what's nearby. Filter by distance, place type and published access conditions. City searches happen on your phone.

KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT
See the network name when available, access details, the source and its date. Look for listings marked free, networks with no Wi-Fi password required, or places whose access still needs checking. At selected venues, the app also shows guest Wi-Fi passwords published by the venue. This coverage is small; most listings have no password. Check the source and venue conditions. Open directions in your phone's maps app when you're ready to go.

KEEP YOUR FAVOURITES AND NETWORK NOTES
Save public places for another visit. Keep your own network names, passwords and security details in an encrypted notebook on your phone. Notebook contents are not uploaded, and support cannot recover them if you clear the app's data or uninstall it.

SCAN AND JOIN WITH ANDROID'S APPROVAL
Ask to see which listed Wi-Fi networks are in range. Android requires precise-location permission for scanning. Join a network you are allowed to use with known connection details, subject to Android's approval. A saved network configuration is not proof that you are connected.

TAKE A MAP WITH YOU
Plus removes ads and lets you download offline maps with street detail, labels and Wi-Fi listings. Regions in 12 cities are available: Sydney, London, Paris, Tokyo, New York, Berlin, Barcelona, Lisbon, Istanbul, Bangkok, Rome and Amsterdam. Each region covers a defined area, not the whole city. Check its exact coverage and size in Downloads before subscribing. For example, Central Berlin covers Mitte, Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg and Charlottenburg.

Download while connected and wait for Ready offline before you leave. Follow progress in the app and its download notification, or cancel when you need to. After your first payment, downloaded maps remain browsable on this phone if Plus ends. If an unpaid trial expires, its files stay saved but need Plus to reopen. Ads return after expiry; adding or updating a map needs active Plus. External websites, directions and joining a venue's network can still need a connection.

CHOOSE HOW YOU USE WI-FI COMPANION
Public Wi-Fi browsing, catalogue updates, saved places and the private notebook are free. The free app includes advertising. Advertising privacy choices are available in Settings where required. No sign-up is needed to browse, and you can choose a city without granting location permission.

Plus is an optional Google Play subscription with weekly and yearly plans. Eligible subscribers can get a three-day free trial on the weekly plan. Google Play shows your local price and trial eligibility before you subscribe. Plans renew automatically unless cancelled through Google Play. Use Restore purchases with the same Google Play account. iPhone and Google Play subscriptions are separate.

A listing is a starting point, not a live connection test. Access can depend on opening hours, customer requirements, a sign-in page or changed network details. Previously loaded public listings remain available on your phone, but offline maps need their separate region download.

Wi-Fi place information includes OpenStreetMap contributors and other credited public sources. Source and licence details are available in the app.
