Finbasis is an independent data and research project on crypto markets. We measure what trading really costs (spread, slippage and funding), backtest trading ideas honestly and publish the ones that do not work, and build the tools that watch these markets. This app is a data and research tool, not a trading platform: you cannot trade, deposit or connect an exchange account in it.

What is inside today

- Perp Cost Map: the cost to open and close a crypto perpetual futures position, coin by coin, for more than 150 coins on two venues, one on-chain (DEX) and one centralised (CEX). Each figure is the exchange fee plus the measured price impact (slippage) of a $2,000 market order. Switch every figure between percent and basis points.
- Cost of holding a position: the typical 30-day funding for a long or a short and its range, from each venue's own funding history.
- Cost calculator: other order sizes, spot markets for a smaller set of coins, your own fee level (taker or maker) and the cost by hour of the day.
- Pages for 12 coins with plain-language explanations of every number, and tooltips (?) for terms such as spread, impact, percentile and round trip.
- Ideas backtested and set aside: several dozen trading ideas that were tested on data and did not hold up, with the reasons, plus two measurements on the project's own data: the funding gap and the price gap between the two venues.
- Data to take with you: copy the coin table as CSV or JSON and download the cost tables as CSV (the project's own derived figures, not raw exchange data).
- Search, sorting, a Watching list, light and dark themes. Your unit, theme and Watching list stay on your device.

How the numbers are made

Order-book costs come from snapshots taken about every five minutes over a two-week window; funding comes from each venue's own settled funding history. Every page states the dates of the data it shows. The figures are a snapshot of past periods and are refreshed about monthly. Venue names say where the data comes from; Finbasis is not affiliated with any venue.

Important

This app is for information only. It is not investment, financial or legal advice, and it does not recommend buying or selling anything. Trading crypto derivatives carries a high risk of loss. Figures are model estimates based on past data; actual costs can differ.
