Welcome to Genyus. This is not a clinic. This is a community.

Hospital and rehab help your body to survive. But, in real life, how do you learn to thrive?

Founded by young stroke survivor Caleb (Cal) Rixon, Genyus is a vibrant, peer-led digital neighbourhood built specifically for young-feeling, working-age survivors of stroke, acquired brain injury (ABI), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and neurological trauma – plus their support crew (family, friends, parents, and partners).

We believe that peer support is not a clinical intervention; it is the organic byproduct of real connection and story-sharing. We don't focus on clinical deficits or symptom checklists. Instead, we use story-sharing as a currency to rebuild identity, self-awareness, and lasting confidence and connection.

Whether you are navigating a recent injury or have been on this road for years, Genyus is your safe home base to move from isolation to connection.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE INSIDE GENYUS:

• VIBRANT COMMUNITY HUB: Land directly in a warm, active, and safe digital neighbourhood designed for genuine belonging. Read inspiring member introductions, share your own stories, post life updates, and celebrate your daily milestones with people who truly get it.

• YOUR PROFILE (AND FUN FACTS): Rebuild your identity beyond your diagnosis. Fill out your personalised profile to share your hobbies, goals, and fun facts rather than just a medical history. Our matching technology safely helps you find and connect with "people like me."

• PEER-HOSTED COFFEE CLUBS: Jump into regularly scheduled, high-vibe-low-stakes, virtual face-to-face meetups led by our trained survivor "Baristas" in a safe, light-hearted, and affirming environment.

• ASK THE COMMUNITY: A gentle, dedicated forum to ask everyday recovery questions, share daily hacks, and receive warm wisdom directly from peers who have lived it.

• REGULAR TOPIC TALKS: Participate in our signature themed discussions by diving into the critical areas of post-rehab life that clinical recovery programs rarely cover.

Here are some of the popular themes we talk about inside our spaces:

- One-Hand Hacks: Sharing practical, lived-experience tips for navigating daily physical challenges.
- Feelings and Emotions: A safe space to unpack the psychological rollercoaster of neurological recovery, mental health, and identity loss.
- Dating and Relationships: Open conversations about intimacy, family dynamics, and reconnecting with loved ones post-injury.
- Invisible Disability: Finding understanding and strategies for navigating fatigue, cognitive processing changes, and a world that cannot see your struggles.
- Work, Study, and Vocation: Exchanging ideas and support for returning to careers, education, or exploring new meaningful paths.

OUR COMMITMENT TO EQUITY:

We believe connecting with peers and finding a sense of belonging should never sit behind a paywall. Access to our safe spaces, including Coffee Clubs, community feeds, and member matching, is and will always remain 100% free for individual survivors and family members.

You are so much more than a patient. You are an expert in your own survival.
