Tassie Abels is the ultimate companion for hikers tackling Tasmania's 158 Abel peaks — mountains over 1100 metres with at least 150 metres of topographic prominence. Whether you're bagging your first summit or chasing the final few peaks, Tassie Abels keeps every adventure logged, organised, and shared with a community that shares your passion for Tasmania's wild places.

Log Every Summit
Record each completed Abel with rich detail — distance hiked, elevation gain, time on trail, difficulty rating, weather and track conditions, and your own personal notes. Import stats automatically from Android Health or Apple Health so your data is pre-filled and ready to go. Tag hiking companions from your friends list or family group, and write a public review to help fellow hikers know what to expect on the mountain.

Explore Every Peak
Dive deep into detailed profiles for all 158 Abels. Each peak includes a full description, natural history notes, key hazards, difficulty ratings sourced from the hiking community, an interactive map with directions, and a list of nearby Abels to combine into bigger adventures. Browse community reviews and summit conditions to plan with confidence.

Track Your Progress
Watch your summit count grow as you work through the list. See your highest Abel, your most recent climb, and your completion percentage at a glance. Earn badges as you hit milestones and climb into the community leaderboard. A dedicated wishlist lets you save peaks you're planning to visit, and upcoming trip planning keeps your next adventure front of mind.

Connect With the Community
Follow friends to see their latest summits in your activity feed. Compare your progress side by side, send friend requests to hikers you meet on the trail, and celebrate each other's achievements. A community activity feed surfaces recent ascents from across the Tassie Abels community, with public logs visible to all members.

Family Hiking
Tassie Abels supports the whole family. Parents and guardians can log summits on behalf of children, with a simplified logging experience that removes public-facing options and lets you select family members as hiking companions from a checklist. Children's accounts are private by default, keeping their activity visible only to family.

Peak of the Week
Each week a featured Abel is highlighted in the app — a chance to discover a peak you might not have considered, learn about its character, and see who in the community has climbed it.

Built for Tasmania
Every Abel is baked into the app — no internet connection required to browse peak profiles, maps, or plan your route. The app is built by Tasmanian hikers, for Tasmanian hikers, with a focus on the unique landscape, weather, and off-track nature of Abel climbing.
