Stop noodling. Start writing.

Riff Roulette is a guitar creativity app built to help guitarists break out of the same old patterns, beat writer’s block, and turn random playing into riffs worth keeping.

Spin a challenge and get a fresh combination of style, tempo, tuning and creative rules. Pick up your guitar, play against the clock, record your idea, and save the good ones to your private Riff Vault.

No theory lessons. No AI judging your playing. No complicated DAW.
Just guitar, a prompt, and a reason to make something new.

FRESH GUITAR RIFF IDEAS

Every challenge gives you a different creative starting point. Explore new guitar riffs, tunings, tempos, styles and writing constraints designed to push you somewhere you might not have gone on your own.

Perfect when you want to practice guitar but don’t know what to play — or when you’re stuck writing the same riffs over and over.

PLAY. RECORD. KEEP.

Start a challenge, play your idea, and record it before it disappears.

Keep the riffs you like in your private Riff Vault so your best guitar ideas don’t end up forgotten in a voice memo folder.

Your saved riffs can be renamed, replayed, developed and shared later.

DEVELOP YOUR BEST RIFFS

Got something worth keeping?

Riff Roulette can give you a new creative direction for an existing riff so you can push the idea further instead of starting over.
Build variations. Change the feel. Explore a new direction. Turn the first spark into something bigger.

BUILT FOR REAL GUITAR PLAYING

Record using your phone or tablet’s built-in microphone, or use a compatible external audio interface recognized by your device.

Compatible class-compliant USB audio interfaces can include popular options such as Focusrite Scarlett and Universal Audio Volt, depending on your phone, tablet, operating system, connection and power requirements.

Plug your guitar into your normal recording setup, or just put the phone nearby and play.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF GUITAR PRACTICE

Riff Roulette isn’t a guitar tuner, chord dictionary, tab library or traditional guitar lesson app.

It’s for practicing creativity.
Use it for:
• Guitar riff ideas
• Songwriting prompts
• Creative guitar practice
• Breaking writer’s block
• Exploring alternate tunings
• Recording quick guitar ideas
• Building a personal riff library
• Developing unfinished riffs
• Daily guitar inspiration

Whether you play rock, metal, punk, blues, indie, alternative or something harder to label, Riff Roulette gives you somewhere to start.

YOUR RIFF VAULT

Save the ideas worth coming back to.

Your riffs are stored privately in your Vault, and you can secure your Vault with an email so your saved ideas can be recovered if you change devices or reinstall Riff Roulette.

SHARE WHAT YOU MADE

When a riff turns into something good, export it and share it.

The prompt creates the spark.

You make the music.
