Want to learn Chinese from real people instead of a textbook? Lilu is a feed of short native Chinese videos with a transcript that runs in sync, word by word. Swipe, tap a word, and it goes into your vocabulary.

HOW IT WORKS
• Swipe through short clips of native speakers. Subtitles in simplified characters, with pinyin, follow the speech word by word.
• Tap any word to open its card: pinyin, its meaning in that exact sentence, and the pronunciation taken from the clip itself.
• A tap saves the word to your vocabulary automatically. Prefer to choose yourself? Turn on "Save only with the button" in Settings, and a tap will only open the card.
• The feed matches your level, your goal and the topics you like. You set it once when you start and can change it any time in your profile.

MEET LILU, YOUR DRAGON COACH
Lilu is a little dragon who lives in the app. Lilu says hello, gives a hint, cheers when you do well and reacts when you tap. If you prefer a quiet screen, switch off "Dragon in the feed" and "Lilu sounds" in Settings.

YOUR VOCABULARY AND REVIEW
Every saved word lives in one place. Search it by hanzi, pinyin or meaning and filter it by HSK level. Saved words come back on a schedule, together with the clip each one came from. A one-minute warm-up asks you to fill in the missing word, and a proverb of the day gives you one more phrase to keep.

HABIT AND MEDALS
Set a daily goal and watch your streak grow. Medals open by themselves while you watch clips. The Achievements gallery shows them all, and you can share a card with your favorite. Reminders are optional: if you allow notifications, Lilu can send you a word from your vocabulary. You can turn them off at any time.

WHO IT'S FOR
Complete beginners who want a gentle way into Mandarin, and learners who are working through HSK words and want to understand fast, natural speech. Sessions are short, so a few minutes a day is enough.

GOOD TO KNOW
• Lilu is free to download. Learning in Lilu needs a subscription. The plans screen shows the price and renewal terms before you pay, and you can cancel in Google Play at any time.
• I get the videos from YouTube and play them through the official YouTube player. Nothing is downloaded or re-hosted. If YouTube is blocked where you are (for example in mainland China or Russia), connect the whole device to a VPN or a network where YouTube opens, otherwise the videos will not play.
• Content is mainland Mandarin in simplified characters. An internet connection is required.
