Choosing what to watch shouldn't take longer than the movie itself.

WatchWhat turns picking a movie into a tournament. Two movies step into the ring — you tap the one you'd rather watch, it survives, a new challenger takes the loser's place. Keep going for up to 100 rounds (or bail early with "I'm Done") until a winner is standing: the movie you're actually watching tonight, plus a shortlist of runners-up that impressed along the way.

No taste profile. No "recommended for you." No algorithm quietly steering your matchups toward what it thinks you want. Every round's a fair fight, drawn at random — you're picking on gut instinct, the same way you'd grab a video off the shelf back when browsing the aisles was the whole point. Judge it by the cover. Trust the vibe.

Before you start, narrow the field your way: genre, decade, rating, sub-genres (kung fu, spaghetti western, Oscar winners, and more), even international cinema by region. Or skip all that and hit Simple mode for a no-fuss shuffle.

Found your winner? Tap "Where to Watch" to see exactly where it's streaming, or share your picks straight to the group chat so nobody has to relitigate movie night.

Want to go deeper? WatchWhat Pro (one-time purchase, no subscription) unlocks the Vault — tag movies as Watch/Seen/Liked/Disliked and keep that history forever, run mini-tournaments against your own Watchlist or Liked list, and save your pre-screening filters as your default.

WatchWhat isn't a recommendation engine. It's the video store clerk who actually knew their stuff, working the shelves with you until you land on something you're genuinely psyched to watch tonight.

Whether you're trying to decide what to watch tonight, planning a movie night with friends, or just tired of scrolling three different streaming apps without picking anything, WatchWhat turns that decision into a quick, fun matchup instead of a chore.
