HEIC to JPG is a free offline HEIC and HEIF converter that turns iPhone photos into JPG, PNG or WebP directly on your phone. No upload, no server, no subscription — your pictures never leave your device.

Convert one photo or fifty. See the output size before you commit. Keep your metadata or strip it with one tap.

WHY YOUR PHOTOS ARE HEIC IN THE FIRST PLACE

Since iOS 11, iPhones save in HEIC to keep files small. It is a good format, and almost nothing outside Apple opens it. Send one to a colleague, upload it to a job application, put it in a document — and it is refused, or it silently arrives as something nobody can view. That is the problem this app exists to solve, and it solves it without sending your pictures anywhere.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT

• Works completely offline. Everything happens on your phone. There is no server to upload to and nothing to wait for — airplane mode is fine.

• See the size before you commit. Most apps surprise you afterwards. This one shows you in → out up front, including when the result will be larger than the original. That happens more often than people expect, and being warned first is the point.

• Up to 50 photos at once. Start a batch and leave the app — a progress notification keeps you posted, and it keeps running with the screen off.

• Your metadata, your choice. Keep EXIF, or strip location and camera details with one tap before you share.

• Every file accounted for. If a picture cannot be handled you are told which one and why. No silent failures, and no success message for a file that was never written — your gallery is re-checked before anything is marked done.

• Open from any share sheet. Sent a photo through WhatsApp, Gmail or Messages? Send it straight here, without saving it first.

FORMATS

Convert HEIC and HEIF, whichever way you need it:

• HEIC to JPG — the default, and what almost everyone wants
• HEIF to JPEG — the same job under the format's formal name
• HEIC to PNG — lossless, and far larger
• HEIC to WebP — the smallest, where the receiving app accepts it

Both the .heic and .heif extensions are accepted, so the same screen serves as a HEIF to JPG converter and as a HEIC converter to JPG — there is no mode to pick. The quality slider applies to the lossy formats. PNG has none, because it is lossless — and it produces much bigger files, which the size preview warns you about beforehand. PNG and WebP are there for the cases that need them, not as filler. It is a narrow image converter on purpose: two formats in, three out, and nothing else to configure.

HONEST ABOUT THE FREE VERSION

Every other app in this category hides how its limits work. Here they are.

The free version shows a small banner and handles up to 10 pictures a day. One short optional ad unlocks unlimited batches for 24 hours. Or buy Pro once for $4.99 and never see an ad again.

No subscription. Ever.

A single photo is never gated, in any state. No ad and no paywall ever appears between picking one and getting the result back — not even when the daily allowance is used up. Declining the optional ad still works; it just covers the ones your free allowance allows.

WHERE YOUR FILES GO

Results are saved to Pictures/HEIC to JPG and appear in your gallery straight away.

PRIVACY

No account. No sign-in. No tracking. Nothing to upload, because there is no server to upload to — everything runs entirely on your device.
