PocketRobotics is a mobile field console for inspecting, monitoring, and diagnosing ROS 2 systems directly from an Android phone or tablet.

Connect to a compatible ROS 2/DDS network and inspect the system without requiring rosbridge, a web server, or an additional companion application on the target device.

With PocketRobotics, you can:

• Inspect the ROS 2 graph, including nodes, topics, publishers, and subscriptions
• Review publisher-offered and subscription-requested QoS policies
• Detect potential QoS incompatibilities
• Subscribe to topics and inspect received messages
• Plot numeric message fields in real time
• Monitor topic activity and observed message rates
• Inspect services, parameters, and TF data
• Record selected topics to MCAP files
• Export diagnostic reports for troubleshooting and collaboration
• Publish supported phone sensors, including IMU and location data, as ROS 2 topics

PocketRobotics joins the ROS 2 DDS domain directly, giving developers and technical users access to important diagnostic workflows from a mobile device.

It is designed for robotics developers, system integrators, researchers, educators, students, and field technicians who need to inspect a ROS 2 system when a complete workstation is not immediately available.

Typical use cases include:

• Initial system inspection
• Topic and message verification
• QoS compatibility analysis
• Live signal visualization
• Diagnostic data collection
• Testing and laboratory exercises
• Capturing evidence for engineering reports and support cases

Requirements:

• An Android device connected to a network accessible by the ROS 2 system
• Compatible ROS 2 and DDS network configuration
• Network settings that permit DDS discovery and communication

PocketRobotics is a diagnostic and development tool. Always follow the operational and safety procedures applicable to the system you are connecting to.

Inspect. Diagnose. Record. Anywhere.
