Privacy-first AI protection helping parents keep children safer in the digital world.

Guardien AI is a privacy-first parental supervision and digital safety app designed to help parents create a safer and healthier digital environment for their children. It helps parents understand and manage screen time and app usage, receive safety alerts, gain insights into potentially concerning digital activity, and support healthier technology habits. Guardien AI uses AI powered safety intelligence to identify relevant patterns and signals that may indicate potential digital safety concerns, including potentially inappropriate content, harmful interactions, cyberbullying, excessive device usage, and other online risks.

Built with a strong focus on privacy, Guardien AI aims to minimize unnecessary data collection and use on-device processing where technically possible. The app is designed to support parents, not replace them, by providing information and tools that can help families make informed decisions, establish appropriate digital boundaries, and have meaningful conversations about online safety.

Guardien AI is the first version of an evolving product, and we are continuously developing and improving its technology, intelligence, and features to create safer and healthier digital experiences for children and families. Guardien AI does not guarantee protection from all digital or offline risks and should not be considered a substitute for parental supervision, judgment, communication, or professional advice. Feature availability may vary depending on the device, operating system, permissions, and applicable platform limitations.

Accessibility Service
Guardien AI uses Android's Accessibility API for two purposes: first, to detect which app is currently in the foreground so it can enforce parent-set screen time limits and block restricted apps in real time; second, to scan on-screen text and notifications from a fixed set of messaging and social apps (including WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram, Signal, Discord, and Snapchat) for safety-related warning signs — including language associated with cyberbullying, self-harm, grooming or predatory contact, explicit content, threats of violence, and extortion — and to alert the linked parent when such language is detected. Guardien AI does not transmit the full content of messages to parents; only a category label and the specific matched phrase are shared as part of the alert.

VPN Service
Guardien AI uses Android's VpnService API to route the child device's DNS queries through AdGuard Family DNS using encrypted DNS-over-HTTPS, enforcing family-friendly content filtering and Safe Search across apps and browsers. Parents can additionally block specific websites, which are filtered locally on the device alongside AdGuard's family filtering.

Background Location
Guardien AI collects the child device's precise location, including while the app is closed or not actively in use, so a linked parent can view the child's real-time location and location history for safety purposes. Background location collection is disclosed in-app and requires the device user's explicit consent before it begins.
