SFSocial is a social platform for adults to meet people, join communities, chat, and optionally use dating features.

Dating is not required. You can use SFSocial entirely as a social platform, joining communities, participating in discussions, and meeting people who share your interests.

COMMUNITIES

SFSocial is organized around communities built around shared interests and topics. Each community has dedicated channels for different discussions, making it easier to keep conversations organized.

Whether you want to discuss movies, share an interest, plan an activity, or simply meet new people, communities provide a place to participate before deciding whether to connect with someone privately.

Group chats and private conversations are also available within the same platform.

PRIVATE CONVERSATIONS

Private messaging requires the recipient to accept a request before a conversation can begin. Users can block or report other users, messages, or requests when necessary.

OPTIONAL DATING

Dating is an optional part of SFSocial and is disabled by default.

When enabled, your dating profile can be shown to other users who are also using dating. Recommendations consider factors such as what you are looking for, personality preferences, and shared interests.

Compatibility is evaluated in both directions, taking into account factors such as age, distance preferences, and other stated requirements. Recommendations also provide an explanation of the compatibility result rather than presenting only a numerical score.

You can skip profiles without notifying the other person. Disabling dating removes your dating profile from recommendations without deleting your existing dating information.

LOCATION INFORMATION

Your country may be displayed on your profile, while displaying your city is optional.

Precise location information is not displayed to other users. Coordinates are rounded before being stored and are not shared with other members.

ADULTS ONLY

SFSocial is intended for users aged 18 and older, or the applicable age of majority where it is higher.

Your date of birth is required when creating an account. Age is currently self-declared and is not verified against government identification.

DEVELOPMENT STATUS

SFSocial is actively developed and currently operated by a small team with volunteer moderators.

The platform is free while development and testing continue. There are currently no subscriptions or paid features.

ACCOUNT DELETION

Accounts can be deleted from Settings. Once deletion is requested, the account is disabled immediately and permanently deleted after 15 days.

Signing back in during this period cancels the deletion request.
