Places of Earth is a guide to the whole world: more than 4.9 million towns, villages and places in 197 countries, each with its own weather, climate, nature, culture and sky.

Choose a place, or let the app use your location, and everything about it is on one screen: the weather for the coming hours and the next ten days, sunrise and sunset, the moon, the chance of northern lights tonight, earthquakes of the past 30 days, public holidays and concerts, the wildlife seen nearby this month, and the monuments, museums, summits and routes around it.

Alerts
Turn on only what you want: in the evening, tomorrow's weather when heavy rain, snow, storms, heat or frost are expected; the northern lights tonight; earthquakes of magnitude 5 or more within 300 km; and on Sunday evening, the week's holidays, concerts and sky events near your places. Quiet hours are kept, and there are never more than three alerts a day. For information only, not an official warning.
