[ABOUT ULTRA SLOW JOGGING]

Ultra Slow Jogging is running at a very low speed, with an emphasis on low intensity, sustainability, and health benefits. It is intended to make exercise more approachable and suitable for a wide range of people.

1. Core Characteristics

• Very slow pace: A typical pace is 8–15 minutes per kilometer—roughly walking speed—and may be as slow as brisk walking, while retaining a running motion in which both feet briefly leave the ground. By comparison, ordinary jogging is about 6–8 min/km and brisk walking about 12 min/km.
• Low-intensity aerobic exercise: Keep your heart rate at 60%–70% of the maximum aerobic heart rate under the MAF 180 formula, or (180 − age) ± 5. For example, the suggested range for a 40-year-old is 105–125 beats per minute. Breathing should remain easy enough to talk or hum without feeling out of breath.
• Technique: Use a high cadence with an in-place jogging motion—at least 180 steps per minute is recommended. Land lightly on the forefoot or whole foot to reduce joint impact. Keep your chest lifted, core engaged, eyes forward, and arms swinging naturally.

2. Key Benefits

• Joint-friendly: Impact is only 1.5 times that of walking, compared with three times for ordinary running, making it suitable for people with a higher body weight, sensitive knees or ankles, or those in rehabilitation.
• Efficient fat burning: At low intensity, the body relies mainly on fat for energy, with fat contributing up to 60%–70%. A 60 kg person may burn approximately 200–300 kcal in one hour.
• Better aerobic fitness: Regular practice may strengthen cardiovascular fitness, lower resting heart rate, and improve circulation.
• Mental relaxation: A gentle rhythm may promote endorphin release, ease stress, and reduce resistance to exercise.
• Flexible timing: Sessions can last 20–60 minutes and fit into spare moments such as a lunch break or commute.
