KikoSensei helps you prepare for the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), from N5 through N1, with short daily practice that fits into a busy schedule.

Answer a few questions, see exactly what you got wrong and why, and come back tomorrow. That is the whole idea.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

■ Practice questions by JLPT category
Work through multiple-choice questions organised the way the exam is: kanji, vocabulary, grammar, and reading. If you are starting at N5 or N4, there is a hiragana and katakana category as well. Pick a level and a category, or jump straight into a mixed set from the home screen.

■ Review every question you got wrong — with explanations
This is the part most people skip, so KikoSensei makes it the easy path. Questions you answer incorrectly are collected for you, and each one comes with an explanation of why the correct answer is correct. Work through your mistakes until they stop being mistakes.

■ Full-length mock exams
Sit a timed practice test to get used to the pace of the real thing before exam day.

■ Statistics that show where you actually stand
See your accuracy broken down by category and watch it move over time. It is easy to feel like you are improving; this shows you whether you are.

■ Rankings
Compare your results with other learners working at a similar level.

■ Daily study reminders
Pick a time that suits you and get a reminder to practise. Reminders are handled entirely on your device.

■ Home screen widget
Put a question on your home screen so practice starts before you have even opened the app.

■ Keep practising offline
Questions are stored on your device, so a poor connection does not stop your study session. Your progress syncs when you are back online.
