Sitecar is a lightweight, unofficial companion ("sidecar") for your self-hosted Papra instance (papra-hq/papra). This app has no affiliation with papra-hq and is developed independently.

Connect
• Store your Papra server URL and API key (encrypted on-device)
• No OAuth, no third-party login — just your own server

Scan & upload
• Scan multi-page documents with automatic edge detection and perspective correction (Google ML Kit, fully on-device)
• Merge pages into a single PDF, optionally with an invisible OCR text layer for full-text search — can be disabled if your Papra instance already runs its own OCR
• Choose the target organization, customize the filename (placeholders for date, time, organization, sender, counter)
• "Share to Sitecar": send images and PDFs from other apps (email attachments, gallery, invoicing apps) straight to Sitecar via the Android share sheet

Manage documents
• Browse existing documents with thumbnail previews, full-text search, and sorting
• Rename, delete (trash), restore, or permanently remove documents
• Create and edit tags, assign them to documents, and filter by tag
• Multi-select for bulk delete or tag editing

Smart suggestions (optional, on-device)
• Rule-based detection of tags, document date, and sender while uploading
• Optional extra AI assistance via Gemini Nano (Android AICore) — runs fully on-device, no data leaves your device for this
• Duplicate warning based on a local perceptual-hash comparison with your recent uploads

Privacy
• No accounts, no tracking, no ads
• Your server URL and API key only ever go to your own Papra server
• Completely free

Requirement: a reachable, self-hosted Papra instance with an API key (Papra web UI → Settings → API Keys, "documents:create" permission).
